SketchUp Interior Modeling Tips

  1. Create a working view
  2. Put interior and exterior elements in different groups on different layers
  3. Use groups and the outliner to keep your model organized
  4. Use guides to lay out your floor plan
  5. Organize as you model – DON’T WAIT
  6. Use the move tool in copy mode and the Push/Pull tool to create door openings
  7. Use the position camera tool to set up your interior views
  8. Change your camera field of view to see more of tight spaces
  9. Group geometry by type and put on separate layers for easy visibility changes
