In this series, I’m going to start building a downtown area in SketchUp using various plugins and extensions. In this video, I’m going to start by adding terrain, roads, and buildings into our model!

Extrude tools is a SketchUp extension from TIG designed to add additional extrusion tools to SketchUp. This tool contains tools for extruding based on edges, rails, and more!

Instant door and window is a SketchUp extension from Vali Architects designed to help you quickly create doors, windows, skylights, louvers, and more in your SketchUp models!

Profile builder is an extension for SketchUp that allows you to create powerful parametric assemblies and profiles. The profiles are fully editable and adjustable, allowing many different modeling options. This extension is especially good at creating assemblies, or groups of extrusions and repeating components, like framed walls, stair rails, and much much more!

Curic space is an extension for SketchUp designed to help you quickly space objects inside your models. It contains functions for making copies of single objects, as well as the ability to space objects using both the object centers, as well as the object origin points.

FredoScale is an extension from Fredo6 for SketchUp that adds a number of new scaling options to SketchUp. In addition to upgrading the standard scale tool, FredoScale allows you to do things like shear, twist, stretch, and radial bend different objects.

Roundcorner is an extension from Fredo6 for SketchUp designed to help you add rounded edges and bevels to your SketchUp models. It allows you to both round off and bevel your corners, and is great for creating rounded edges and chamfers in your models!

Flowify is an amazing organic modeling extension for SketchUp designed to allow you to take objects and bend them along any surface with 4 corners (quad surface). This allows for the creation of very interesting shapes within SketchUp. Use the soften/smooth edges tool in your tray to smooth out the created geometry

ThruPaint is a SketchUp extension from Fredo6 that allows for customizing complex materials, UV mapping, and much more! ThruPaint’s material editing tools make changing materials and textures in SketchUp easy!

Path Copy is an extension for SketchUp designed to help you create multiple different copies of objects along paths. You can set spacing by typing in a value on your keyboard and hitting the “Enter” key.

Instant Roof NUI is a SketchUp extension from Vali Architects designed to help you create quick, detailed roofs in SketchUp. It contains options for many different styles, pitches, materials, framing types, and details.

Curviloft is a SketchUp extension designed to help you create skins in SketchUp, both by generating surfaces from contours, as well as creating skins over frames. This extension can create both skins, as well as countour lines from the faces that are created. This is one of my favorite organic and skin modeling extensions!
