Tool Functions

This extension allows you to layer various effects on top of your models, much like photoshop.
It’s a rendering software, but instead of rendering light and materials, it more renders styles.
It has 3 kinds of effects – Images, which generate images, filters, which alter images, and masks, which show or hide certain parts of images.
By taking all these effects and putting them together, you can generate many more looks than the stock SketchUp styles.
The documentation isn’t super strong, so your best bet for learning to use the extension is to start with the built-in default options, then adjust them until you start getting an idea of what the settings do.

Tips for working with this extension

  1. Turn off auto update if you have a slower computer
  2. Tapping the space key will take you out of the image that you’re in if auto update is off
  3. Turn off layers and geometry you don’t need to speed up your rendering times
  4. Practice your styles on simpler models
  5. Use the built in styles to experiment
